Lucky Ducks [Private Session] - A Family Permaculture Adventure

Step into the living landscape of our permaculture garden for a hands-on, family-friendly experience rooted in practical ecology. Create something real, useful, and alive!

Guided by our regenerative growers Dave and Guy, you’ll begin by exploring some basic principles of permaculture - how to read a landscape, observe natural patterns, and work with nature rather than against it. Learn how we grow food here, and taste something fresh from the garden.

Together, you’ll survey the space and choose the most suitable location for a new shelter for the ducks. You’ll consider water flow, shelter, sun, wind, access, and ecology. Be prepared to justify your decision as a group!

Once the site is chosen, the hands-on work begins: weaving a living structure from fresh willow. Learn simple, traditional techniques to bend, weave, and plant willow so it continues to grow into a shelter over time - part structure, part living organism. Will the ducks are tempted to explore their new space?

What to expect:

• Introduction to basic permaculture principles in a working garden
• Learning how food is grown, with the chance to taste something from the garden
• Guided landscape walk and group site selection for the duck shelter
• Learning to observe, assess, and justify a placement decision
• Hands-on weaving of a living willow structure
• Collaboration on a real, functional habitat for ducks
• Time to observe how animals respond to the space you’ve created

• This experience runs Mon-Sat, from May to Sep.
• This is a private experience for your group of 1-8 people.
